Pokhara's Tournament for the Next Generation

The Franklin Cup is organized by Franklin Global Study to bring together +2-level students from schools and colleges across Pokhara for three days of competitive futsal. Now in its second edition, the tournament has grown into one of the city's most anticipated student sporting events, powered by Pokhara Cover House and played under FIFA Futsal rules at the Rangasala Covered Hall.

Open exclusively to currently enrolled grade 11–12 students from schools and colleges.

One Student, One Team

Each player may represent only one institution. Guest or loan players are not permitted.

Institutional Approval

Teams must be endorsed by their school or college — signed and stamped by the principal or sports in-charge.

Valid ID Required

Every player, coach, manager, and medical staff must carry a valid student/institution ID card, checked at every match.

HOW WE PLAY

Rules & Format

  • Played under FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game — size 4 low-bounce ball, indoor futsal shoes only.
  • Unlimited flying substitutions through the team's bench zone.
  • Kick-ins replace throw-ins; goalkeeper distribution stays within own half.
  • 6th team foul in a half awards a direct free kick without a wall.
  • One 1-minute time-out per team per half.
  • Yellow card = 2-minute sin-bin, team plays short.
  • Red card = immediate send-off + suspension for the next match.
  • Fair play points (deductions per card) determine the Rs 10,000 Fair Play Award.
  • Group stage followed by knockout rounds across Oct 7–9.
  • Group ties broken by head-to-head, goal difference, goals scored, then discipline record.
  • Knockout ties level after regulation go straight to a penalty shoot-out.
